Summary:

        Inspect multiple Manufacturers’ vehicles based on specific program guidelines. Inspect vehicles for body damage and signs of previous repairs, record data utilizing an electronic hand-held computer and a digital camera when applicable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Conducts thorough vehicle inspection according to guidelines established by client.
2. Documents damages and suspected damages by entering data into hand held computer. Photograph damage with a digital camera when required.
3. Meets productivity standards established by local and corporate management.
4. Writes body and paint estimations and follow manufacturers guidelines.
5. Detects poor prior repair, suspect frame damage, and other auto body technical details as required.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Body shop background or collision repair experience
• Estimating experience using Mitchell Guide

Education/Certification and/or Experience

• Experience using or the ability to learn how to use a hand-held estimating devices
• Experience completing insurance appraisals, writing estimations or conducting auction inspections
• Prior estimating/inspection experience in body shop or related estimating environment preferred
• Technical or vocational school training
• Body shop training such as Vale Tech or I-Car helpful
• High school degree required

• Able to demonstrate written and oral communication skills

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide

• Working within established guidelines; following procedures and exercising good judgment

• Able to lift automobile hoods and deck lids, as well as look under the car for frame damage, core support or other damage
